Travel guide of Jökulsárlón Iceberg LagoonA freezing cold night camping on the ice beach next to Jökulsárlón was completely worth it to wake up to this view. Every where we turned in Iceland made us feel like we were visiting another planet!

The glaciers of Iceland are receding, these are broken pieces that wash out to sea only to be washed back up onto the black sand beach. They nearly glow against the black sand like diamonds.

A first visit to Jokulsarlon ice lagoon in Iceland and my first sight of a glacier. The scale of the landscape was beyond comprehension as the ice stacks tumbled off into the distance. Being able to get up close to the icebergs are they drifted out via the lagoon and washed back to the black sand beach was a moment of reflection. Featuring Timberland rucksack.

During my trip in Iceland I stopped at Jökulsárlón lake, it was quite early in the morning and even thought when I arrived I was almost alone, just a couple of minutes or so and crowds of people arrived. However that blue. Never seen a blue so blue. There’s no picture in the world that can describe this amazing landscape.

I was in iceland, in Yokursarlon. It was almost night and there was no wind. The water was calm and also my spirit. The wonderful ice winter.

One of the first pics I took at Iceland. Lighting was perfect, the sky was a light overcast

A beach I could spend hours and hours on (and I did ;)): The beach near Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon in Iceland, also called diamand beach (no explanation needed). While it’s beautiful to see these ice blocks getting washed back up on the black sand, it’s also heart-breaking to know that climate change is the reason behind the phenomenon. Beauty is found not only in big things, but also in what we most often forget to look at. This little ice glacier was found on the shore of the diamond beach in Iceland. We bothered to look down at it and took the most beautiful shot of the day.

a shot I like a lot from a very miserable rainy day I had to dry the lens after each shot and put my mini umbrella over the camera to give some protection. the good part the color of the ice was very intense

Growing up in Australia I had never seen big floating icebergs like this before. It was an incredible sight, we spent the whole afternoon running around trying to get the best shots from the shore and above with the drone.

On the south side of Jökulsárlón you will find a beach where the most beautiful diamonds (glacier ice) melt away on the beach or break under pressure of the waves from the rough Icelandic ocean. When visiting Jökulsárlón don’t forget to visit the beach your eyes will be amazed.

And there it was a huge chunk of ice floating at sea. You could see it move every time a wave was closing by.

Our last stop for the day was the really beautiful diamond beach, an image that does not need any filters or color corrections stuns you because it kind of looks like valuable stones but is just ice.

Mostly hidden and less known, Fjallsarlon is a beautiful glacial lake in the Vatnajokull National Park area, in southern Iceland. That day it was so windy that the boat tours were canceled.
